Updated GMail

Gmail has quietly rolled out some new interfaces changes and some enhancements on the backend.

The new interface changes are most notable on Safari and Camino and the new Contacts system is much improved – though you won’t notice them as much yet there as they aren’t fully supported in those browsers yet (Firefox and Internet Explorer love mostly).

There is also prefetching enabled so the pages and display of emails should occur for you much faster. All in all, a very nice update.

Of course, my GMail notifier add-on for Firefox is now broken. Hopefully an update will be coming soon.

If you haven’t seen these updates, be patient… they are rolling across the accounts and you should see them in the next couple days.

UPDATE: The GMail notifier add-on for Firefox has been updated and is working again.  Say thank you to the developer.

I’ve had 3 seperate updates for Gmail notifier firefox add-on. I’m hoping there aren’t 5 million more. I only use it on my work comptuer where I run XP because the Gmail built app that sits in the toolbar for windows blows chunks – I MUCH prefer how it works on my Macbook
