Wii for Fitness
This was reported by Ars Technica from E3 (electronics and gaming convention): Wii Fit
Essentially, it’s a board you place on the floor, connect to the Nintendo Wii, and then proceed to play “games” that force you to exercise. It has already been noted that the Wii is good for young and old to improve fitness and mental dexterity and this seems like an excellent way to expand their market. It also fits with the fact that the generation that grew up with Nintendo are becoming more health conscious as they get older – but they still like to play video games. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of these in gyms in the near future.
Hopefully it will be enough to get those fat kids you see being dragged about on their Heelys to slim down a bit – c’mon kid… at least use your own power to skate if you aren’t actually gonna walk. It’s obvious their parents aren’t having any luck getting them outside to play so maybe this will help.
